01 / Real-time systems / Rust + Bevy

Fenrir

A 2D space-shooter experiment built around Bevy’s entity-component system.

Separate systems handle controller input, timed asteroid spawning, movement, collisions, health, and the playing/game-over loop. Entity tagging supports scene cleanup and restart.

The interesting part is the lifecycle: which systems run in each state, when entities are created or removed, and how a restart resets the scene. Bevy supplies the engine and rendering.

02 / Processes / Transports / Measurement

IPC experiments

Related experiments in transferring data between Rust and JavaScript runtimes over Unix-domain sockets and WebSockets.

The repositories include length-prefixed socket framing, sender/receiver process orchestration, timing around reads and writes, and a Rust N-API receiver. The WebSocket harness explores Rust and Node.js sender–receiver combinations.

A useful comparison needs clear measurement boundaries: process startup, disk I/O, buffering, and transport time can describe different things. These are exploratory harnesses; no general speedup or language-performance claim is made.
